After many years enjoying painting in oil, Jennifer Sims discovered pastels! She has relished exploring this medium the last several years. Working in the studio with still life and figures, she captures the excitement of color and light in exuberant strokes. This also carries over into her often large-format landscapes, both from life and reference photos she has taken in her travels. With a B.A. in Fine Arts from Baker University including an emphasis in printmaking, Sims has worked as a graphic designer for publications at the Kansas Geological Survey for 25 years. Her oils and pastels are in private and corporate collections across Kansas and throughout the United States
