“I create places where one can happily daydream.” Primarily a landscape painter working alla prima in the pastel and oil mediums, Kathy Drungilas has painted the Southwest, coastal California, and now lives and paints in the Midwest. "Painting is peace to me, there is nothing more calming or soothing than to paint and play with color."

Not limiting herself only to broad vistas, Kathy has applied her artistic eye to other subjects as well. Still life compositions, florals and lately a series of paintings of classic automobiles also spring from Kathy’s palette.

A MAPS member for five years, and currently Webmaster, Kathy is as comfortable with computers as with paints and keeps a day job as a computer systems engineer. However, art and creating are her passions.

"I really love the MAPS group and have found great encouragement as an artist from being a member. My skills have increased through workshops, paintouts and exhibitions, but best of all, some really great friendships have formed!"
