I can't remember not drawing. In the third grade I recall the class being asked to make a drawing of what we wanted to be when we grew up. I drew a man standing at an easel painting. The art teacher asked me why I made the floor boards get smaller in the distance. My reply was, "because that's the way they look." She gave me an "A" on the piece, and put it on display for the week. I took art every year until graduating from high school.

I worked in the art department of a bowling supply company until I was drafted into the Army. When I got out, I went to work for a nameplate and stencil company doing mainly lettering. Didn't find that enjoyable. Decided to go to cosmetology school, feeling it was still a form of art.

I've continued my drawing and painting in the studio area of my home. I have studied with others as well, including two workshops with Albert Handell and one with Daniel Greene. I'm currently taking classes with Donna Aldridge.

I've had work accepted in several regional juried art exhibits, including two at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art in St Joseph, MO and one in the gallery at William Woods University in Fulton, MO.

Basicly - I just love to draw and paint in pastels.
