Rich Hayek Richard Hayek--artist, poet, geographer--can be found traveling back roads or tramping along creek beds impressing scenes into his mind, relying on his senses to record an honest moment in nature's history. Taking in the feel of the air, the temperament of the weather, the condition of the foliage, he makes notes. Back at the studio, he transfers the scene from his mind onto a fine-grain sandpaper canvas using pastels and charcoal to create a visual representation of poetry. "Fascinated by the thin line between earth and sky, in the wonderment of the landscapes and their disposition, my artistic expression focuses on geographic habitats and their relationship with the forces that shape color, patterns, and the textures of nature." |
