Janice Lackey creates places for reflection and renewal of spirit. Light, space, color and drama take you into the moment. Janice taught school for several years in another field before following her heart.
"My art takes me to another world and leaves me there for hours."

Janice has received numerous awards for her pastels and other mediums. She currently works almost exclusively in pastels. "I love the colors of pastels. The pigments are pure and retain their color."

Her work may be seen in the annual Small Painting Show, sponsored by MidAmerica Pastel Society in November and has appeared in exhibitions such as the Mid-Missouri Artists Summer Exhibition held at the Art Center Gallery on the campus of Central Missouri State University.

Janice has work in the Lisa Frick Gallery, Lake Ozark, Missouri, The Wild Pony Gallery, 7319 West 79th in Overland Park, Kansas, and in The Seventy Third Street Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska.
