Open to all artists working in the soft pastel medium
Work may be traditional or non-objective. ALL work
must be predominately (80%) executed in soft pastels.
Entries must be original. Painting must be identical to
accepted CD image. NO paintings over 3 years old.
Neutral mats please.
Work to be hung must not exceed 36” wide by 48”
high, (image size).Work must be firmly framed, under
glass or plexi glass with sturdy fasteners and strong
wire, ready to hang. NO saw-tooth hangers. Neither
the Irene B. French Gallery nor MAPS will be
responsible for loss or damage of entries using glass.
DEADLINE: May 3, 2010 (Postmarked) Regular Mail, cd-rom submission only.
JUROR: Artist Lorenzo Chavez will jury entries.
WORKSHOP
We are proud to announce that in conjunction with jurying and judging our exhibition, Lorenzo Chavez will teach a three-day plein air workshop from August 23-25 and a two-day plein-air workshop from August 27-28 geared toward the serious student of the landscape who has experience working in pastels, oils or water media.
Students of all levels are welcome. The workshop studio is in Lenexa, KS. There will be demos, critiques and location painting.
Cost - 3-day workshop $350.00; 2-day workshop $275.00.
